Mycopunk Wiki — Upgrades, Weapons & Co-op Guides
Mycopunk is a mission-based looter shooter where four robot employees clear fungal aliens off the moon New Atlas. Hundreds of upgrades drop into a grid you have to physically fit, so every run is a packing puzzle as much as a firefight.

What is Mycopunk?
Mycopunk is a mission-based looter shooter from Pigeons at Play, published by Devolver Digital. You and up to three friends are the New Atlas Hazard Crew, a squad of scrapped robots hired by the SAXON corporation to clear a planet-wide fungal outbreak off the moon New Atlas.
The Upgrade Grid
Upgrades are shaped patterns of hex cells that share one budget, so fitting them together matters as much as finding them.
Pattern Infusion
Spend Antimass Substrate at the Pattern Infuser in the HUB to remove cells from a pattern, trading resources for space.
Four-Player Co-op
Crew up with three friends as the New Atlas Hazard Crew, splitting crowd control, burst and revive duty between your grids.
Level 3 to 30 Ladder
Each threshold removes a restriction: rotation opens by rarity and Incursion unlocks at level 13, opening the Antimass economy.
The hook is the upgrade grid. Instead of a linear skill tree, every mod is a shaped pattern of hexagonal cells that has to physically fit alongside everything else you own. Mycopunk launched into Early Access in July 2025 and reached 1.0 on October 20, 2026, adding a fifth playable employee, the X11-B moonlet, the Fulfillments system and a localization pass across ten languages.

Upgrade Grid at a Glance
Seven of the upgrades named in the official 1.0 patch notes, with the tier they occupy in most builds and where they come from. Cell footprint is a qualitative read, because the developers have never published a numeric per-pattern cell count.
Regions of New Atlas
Every region documented in official patch notes and achievements, with the kind of terrain it presents and the threat bands where it is worth your time.
X11-B
Best threat band: High threat, 1.0 region
Gravity Farm
Best threat band: Early to mid threat
Moldy Tundra
Best threat band: Mid threat farming
Ice Floes
Best threat band: Mid to high threat
Flourishing Desert

Weapon Baseline Comparison
How the documented weapons behave before a single upgrade is fitted, which is what actually decides whether your first ten missions feel fair.
Elements and Status Effects
What each documented status does when its meter fills, and which weapon or grenade line applies it. The developers have never published a closed element list, so this is a guide and not a complete set.
Cryo
Freezes the target; frozen parts stop working and melee shatters
Acid
Leaves corrosive puddles that keep damaging enemies inside them
Shock
Chains between targets and hits soaked enemies harder
Blood
Builds stacks the Carver can spend for a burst window
Rot
Damage over time, imbued into bullets by rot sources
Mycopunk Questions, Answered
What is the upgrade grid in Mycopunk?+
Every upgrade you find is a hexagonal pattern rather than a plain stat line, and all of your patterns, weapon modules included, share one finite grid. That means a powerful upgrade you cannot physically fit is worth nothing, and building well is as much about packing as it is about collecting.
Is there a way to plan a grid before I commit?+
Plan on paper or in the in-game Codex first. Place the modules you consider essential, fill the awkward corners with cheap Standard and Rare patterns, and only then decide whether a large exotic is worth the cells it will displace. Rotation unlocks in steps by rarity, from level 3 for Standard to level 30 for Exotic.
Can I play Mycopunk alone?+
Yes, and the developers lowered the maximum enemy count for solo players on threat 3 and 4. The honest caveat is that a single grid cannot specialise in crowd control and burst damage at the same time, which is why high threat missions are harder alone. Prioritise mobility and survivability if you are dropping solo.
What should I unlock first as I level up?+
Spend Armament Licenses as they arrive, since they can be used on any normal weapon in any order and there is no fixed unlock sequence. Push toward player level 13 as your main goal, because that is the level that unlocks Incursion and, through it, the Antimass Substrate income that makes Pattern Infusion affordable.
How does cryo freeze work?+
Filling the cryo meter freezes a target in place, and freezing a specific part such as a weapon disables only that component. A frozen target that takes enough damage shatters for a large burst, and a melee hit usually shatters it instantly. You can be frozen too, though you keep moving at heavily reduced speed.
Does Mycopunk have redeem codes?+
No. Mycopunk has no in-game redemption code system, which is why this site does not publish a codes page. There are two unrelated code-like things: a Steam beta branch password, and the in-game Employee 2FA Codes you enter on Roachard computer to unlock upgrades, which are a progression mechanic rather than a giveaway.
How do I unlock the Mycologist?+
She is the fifth playable employee added in the 1.0 release and is unlocked by rescuing her in the Expedition Alpha mission rather than by levelling or spending currency. Bring defensive and survival modules, because it is a timed mission with real failure states. The developers have not published her upgrade tree.
Does Mycopunk support mods?+
The developers publish official modding material that documents internal item identifiers, which is why the community knows the weapon list in detail. That is documentation rather than guaranteed mod support, and there is no published modding policy that this site can quote. Treat community mods as unsupported and check the official news hub for current guidance.
